A shipboard flogging by zso72

This story in pictures uses the power of AI to recreate a punishment on a Royal Navy ship in the 18th century. It is a modern day storyette in the best traditions of the 60s, Royale Studio whose creator, Basil Clavering was much interested in the history of flogging in the British armed services.

 A hungry (hunky) sailor is caught red-handed by the ship's Captain, stealing precious, bread rations while the ship is mid-ocean. 

It's a serious offence.

The Captain condemns the offender to immediate punishment.
He is seized by the Mate and a senior seaman and marched away from the scene of the crime. 

The seamen are dressed identically so even though it's not a recognisable uniform, I assume this is military not a merchant ship.

 They don't go far, an iron collar is secured around the unfortunate seaman's neck and he is shackled to the main-mast, with hands above his head, ready for punishment. The Captain gazes at his pert backside, as if contemplating a very different course of action.

There's no time for dilly-dallying, the Mate has fetched his whip.

He lays it fiercely across the seaman's back. 

The crew have gathered to watch the punishment. 

They are largely unsympathetic, it's their bread he was stealing.

A second stroke lands on the seaman's back.

He tries not to flinch or show weakness.

As the punishment continues, his grunts get louder and more strained, but stony faces surround him.

 Finally it ends. The Mate releases his wrists and he sinks to his knees before the Captain, showing his contrition. He's got off lightly, punishments running into hundreds of lashes were not uncommon in the British Navy.

 

But it may not be all over quite yet. He's still in that collar and the Captain's looking at his ass again.

This video is a refreshing glimpse of a slave being treated well, he is scrubbed clean by an attendant, after a hard day's work in the fields or the stables. 

 

MaxMini - Slave Pulling a Cart

 Men pulling carriages, like ponies turn up fairly regularly in S&M collections and there's a well-known photo by AMG that I used recently. However, this for me is a more interesting, more serious take. The military uniform of the cart driver seems to imply that this slave is a POW. Although this artist is interested in slaves as objects of desire, he portrays them as physical workers.

This is an example of the kind of hard labour envisaged. 

After a day in a dusty quarry, he'll need that wash-down.

 Cart pulling adapted to a Roman context in front of an audience. It's not clear if this is a form of punishment, part of a race or pure entertainment for the crowd.

There's a predominantly oriental flavour to this artists work so it's not surprising for him to depict a typical oriental scenario like this. I'm not clued up on the science of cultivating paddy fields, but I think they use oxen normally. Big beasts! The water obviously elevates the intensity of the labour. 

 

If this were the work of a western artist, he might attract flak for the stereotypical straw hat, but it's obviously authentic.

I've published this picture before, at 'X', but I make no apologies for doing so again. I love the tight kit, the unselfconscious, intimate huddling and the glorious mixture of facial expressions of these handsome, hunky men, wilting in the face of a totally absurd threat. It truly lives up to the motto of this site of 'putting men in their place' but it's not usually as easy as making them wear tight shorts in the rain!

In this variant, the guys huddle together, watching to see if a vital penalty kick will go over and score the winner. Rarely can so many pert puckers have gone to waste!

Being voted 'Man of the Match' by them may well entail the offer of more balls, judging by the general air of enthusiasm on the part of some. The furtive look of the mega-hunk bringing up the rear of the committee suggests something more earthy.

Occasionally mishaps happen with shorts in rugby. When they happen on the training field there's an opportunity for mischievous teammates to have some fun. Especially when it's the handsome, popular team captain who's been accidentally (?) de-bagged. He has to take it all in good spirit.

However, if you convince rugby players of the marketability of their backsides and encourage them to display them with confidence, there's always a risk that they will become naughty, even in front of the home crowd. A crowd that may well swell when word about this gets out!

There's risk of worse if someone complains to the cops. Rugby players are noted for their occasional bad behaviour, but this one's obvious remorse is less typical. Perhaps the cops are reminding him of the perils of incarceration, especially for cute young men in skimpy shorts. Their sheer muscular 'presence' is intimidating in itself. 

  The pleasing filling of the player's tight shirt in this image reflects a welcome modern development of the rugby player's image. There's evidence of an equally weighty presence in his shorts too, but in general this artist is less willing to create tightly-wrapped contours at the front, than he is at the back.

The club don't need cops to express extreme their displeasure, as this fantasy image suggests. The ultimate sanction is the world of sport's curious interpretation of dismissal. Can't let all that money we spent on him go to waste!  It's hard to tell if the player himself is pleased at the prospect of a life in service or merely bemused.

 

The sale idea is suggested within the artist's original but I have elaborated it somewhat.

Gym Machines

 Some gym jocks can be a pain, believing their obsession entitles them to priority on the gym machines, outranking ordinary users, especially nerdy, college types. This one pushed aside a particularly inventive student of mechanical engineering who brought his own gym machine along to the place a few days later. There were plenty of other frustrated users around that day who were more than happy to show the jock how to use this new device - whether he wanted to or not. It targeted muscle groups that he'd long neglected and I understand the results were impressive and immediate, not to mention entertaining, to all concerned. Bar one.

Targeted

Andrew and Christian had been flatmates for so long that 'd got in the habit of pottering around in their underpants after work. This didn't go unnoticed by their neighbours for long, but it was not the sort of place where people minded that sort of thing. They preferred to gossip about the succession of giggling girls that visited the flat, singly and in pairs. Fortunately, the walls of the flats were thick. So long as that kept the noise down, no-one was going to complain. 

Except for Joe, the odd character in flat 6. He had strict views about such goings on and they fed conveniently into his shady lifestyle which happened to include links with a certain trafficking organisation that specialised in exports to those parts of the world where conditions of 'employment' were extremely flexible. 

A couple of telephone calls were all it took to schedule a visit by a valuer, all Joe had to do was secure and display the goods for him. They could agree a price on the spot or he could send them for auction. Immediate removal was guaranteed, if terms could be agreed. Joe didn't plan to be awkward about it, seeing as his outlay on the goods would be zero. 

Armed with a gun and plenty of rope, he paid a call on the boys, late in the evening, when they'd had a chance to wind down after work and have a beer or two.

Mitchell's Army Folio 2 - The Deserter

Mitchell - 'The Deserter'

 

The deserter thought he was safe, hiding at his girlfriends flat,

but the Army tracked him down there eventually.

They raided the place at the crack of dawn

and caught the two of them in the throes of passionate sex.

He was clapped in irons and escorted away,

allowed only a hastily-packed, overnight bag

and still wearing his girlfriend's slinky satin underwear

which he'd put on as part of their sex-play.

He felt dazed, still half-asleep, as they descended in the lift 

Residual, frustrated lust still swirled within his loins

Ahead of him a bleak, prison cell awaited

and the myriad ordeals of the Regiment's Punishment Corps

There's a more immediate ordeal facing this deserter when the lift doors open and he's escorted through the public foyer to the Army vehicle waiting in the street outside. I suppose he should think himself lucky that the army did not arrest him at his place of work, in front of all his colleagues.

Paddling Prisoners

Just another dungeon punishment scene? Well no, because that the captives are paddling in shallow water troughs. 'Trudging through mud' as the artist enigmatically puts it.

A set up like this might suggest an electro scene, but of course, they didn't have that utility in Roman times. Maybe the pool is full of creatures that bite, that would explain the little dance the unfortunates are doing. 

 

They don't get much chance to look for themselves, but the slaves are lucky enough to have a rather attractive overseer. We only catch glimpses of him in the murky light. There's a better view of him being taught how to maintain building site discipline at the artist's website.

Milking Factory 27

 It's nearly a year since I last had a milking factory tour, so I was delighted when I received an invitation to visit this little gem of an establishment. 

 

Milking Factory by an unknown artist

 

Milking Factories are noted for their sanitary working conditions (naturally) but less so for care of their workers. Some set-ups deliberately isolate and stress their product-force, claiming that it results in a more pungent flavour. The management of this factory take the opposite view, that comfort and comradeship produces better yield and a richer, creamy product. 

As a result, the producers here lie on their backs throughout their shift and are free to use the bars above them for light exercise if they get bored or develop cramps. The main purpose of the bars, however, is to help them remain in the optimal legs-up position in a humane and caring way. There are no gags or restraints here, just collars that transmit their biological indicators to quality control. They can also be used to gently remind individuals that they are here to work, not gossip. The men are not free to leave, of course, most remain at their post out of team loyalty, since underproduction hits all their men's pay-checks, because of the shared collection system.  

Over time, production pairs form a special bond because they are physically connected by a shared, screw plug. They use it to support and encourage each other when shift fatigue sets it. Long-standing pairs also learn to use their muscles to manipulate the screw so it becomes an instrument of pleasure and other private communications of an astonishing sensitivity and breadth. All of this makes for a happy productive team. 

 This environment doesn't suit every man, but management report that staff turnover is astonishingly low.

Tom of Finland - The Careless Motorcyclist (Complete Story)

This story of six pictures by Tom of Finland, for me, is Tom's masterpiece. Image 4 was my first experience of gay erotic art when I stumbled across it on the front cover of a second hand copy of 'Physique Pictorial' and it left an indelible impression. Tom did more explicit images later in his career and more technically accomplished art, but never bettered the earthy inspiration behind these images which appeals to the fetish leanings of the viewer rather than serving up pornography to him.

A biker is teaching a muscular hunk how to ride a motorcycle. 

This image is appealing on two levels. The magnificent physique of the student, whose hairy torso expresses manliness and invites the viewer to lust. But there's also a subtle sense of masculine intimacy and adult caring in this situation that speaks directly to gay men in search of a protective mentor.

The novice accidentally starts the machine in gear and the bike shoots off, leaving the instructor sprawling in it's wake. It collides with a stone wall, ejecting the rider.

 

On an erotic level the imagery is potent with the rider's sensually alluring, upturned backside aligned with, if not quite between, the mentor's open legs. 

 

Tom is borrowing here from a traditional horse riding and hunting joke, where a rider is unseated when his horse refuses to jump a hedge. The sheer comedy of the accident makes it entertaining.  

 

The Tom of Finland retrospective Vol 1 dates this series as 1964, but you can see here, that this picture at least is 1963

The careless rider has to learn a new lesson, held down and spanked over the same stone wall that was his downfall. His petit buns and kicking legs seem at variance with the impression of strength in the first image. The overconfident youth is put in his place. His rear wriggles tantalisingly right between the instructor's legs.

It's not the end of his penance, his mentor grabs him, pushing his head down and telling him to put right the damage he caused. The student's powerful physique avails him naught, he has no choice but to bend his knee. It's a magical moment. Tom has tweaked their relative sizes to amplify the sense of strength turned into weakness by a bigger man.

 

The student's face is pushed down towards the mentor's crotch but it seems to be a warning of possibilities rather than intent, preserving both parties masculinity, unsullied, for the benefit of censors on the look out for expressions of homosexuality. The result is to heighten the homoerotic credentials of the image for gay viewers longing to see homosexuality expressed without effeminacy.

 

Tom drafted this idea of the top dog dominating an offender in an earlier image, the Careless Sailor. It's slightly more successful, technically, but implies sexual subservience more explicitly.

The hunk sets to work, straightening the bent mudguard of the motorbike, with the front wheel lodged between his thighs. It's another indication that his 'regular guy' maleness is undamaged. 

The mentor looks on, absently fiddling with his pec.

 In true masculine fashion, the hunk has soiled his jeans in effecting the repair and has stripped them off to scrub them clean. Surprisingly, he's wearing no underwear. His mentor stands over him as if supervising his efforts. He seems to be making a suggestion that is interesting enough to make the hunk stop and listen. We can only guess what, but notice that the instructor is now showing his rear, highlighted un-subtly by an inset leather patch. Hint hint?

Remixing Reality - Rugby Buns, Magazine Cover 1

 Remixing Reality is clearly a fan of rugby men, as am I. There are dozens of rugby images at his site on Tumblr, and I've selected a few of my favourites for this review.

 

Naturally, the rugby men in his team are obliged to wear the tightest and skimpiest of shorts, and they do it with the showy pride you'd expect. The magazine cover mock-up, illustrated above, is a widely used, AI format, I've found nearly 50 of them on his site, featuring a variety of male types and ages in rugby kit. 

 

Recently, he's been turning some of the best ones into short videoettes in which the models perform for our pleasure, showing off their best assets, revealing what's underneath and flexing muscle. The result is a pleasing illusion of personal intimacy.

This more mature model is at the opposite end of the physique and age scales. Crouching in wet shorts, which are so tiny they look incongruous on such a big man, but it doesn't make them any less sexy. He's not been animated yet, but I am hopeful he will be.

Posing for these magazine, publicity images encouraged the players to think about their bodies in a new way. 

And those of their team-mates!

Some club owners went further and ordered new kit in the latest fabric to show off their player's physiques. Most of the team embraced the new look, but some secretly had their doubts, thinking that maybe the kit was a little too revealing and the new style of team photograph a little too intimate. You could feel the difference up close.

They won a lot of enthusiastic new fans. Other people were left wondering if maybe they were just a little too candid.

 It's usual to celebrate scoring with a team huddle, less so in rugby than in soccer games. Perhaps that's because there's already a lot of close physical contact in rugby. 

Players focussed on the game may not quite realise how their skimpy, tight gear amplifies the intimacy here. You couldn't blame anyone if they were tempted to touch a teammate in a different way (right). But don't think he won't notice, those shorts are soooo thin!

Surprisingly, for a sport that's all about carrying the ball, it's good kicking that frequently makes the difference in rugby and wins the game. So it's understandable that the team want to celebrate the remarkable legs that have propelled them to victory. 

 

(We can admire them too, albeit for slightly different reasons! You might even dream of hanging the hunk up by them. Well I do).
