Remixing Reality - Rugby Buns, Magazine Cover 1

 Remixing Reality is clearly a fan of rugby men, as am I. There are dozens of rugby images at his site on Tumblr, and I've selected a few of my favourites for this review.

 

Naturally, the rugby men in his team are obliged to wear the tightest and skimpiest of shorts, and they do it with the showy pride you'd expect. The magazine cover mock-up, illustrated above, is a widely used, AI format, I've found nearly 50 of them on his site, featuring a variety of male types and ages in rugby kit. 

 

Recently, he's been turning some of the best ones into short videoettes in which the models perform for our pleasure, showing off their best assets, revealing what's underneath and flexing muscle. The result is a pleasing illusion of personal intimacy.

This guy above is very cute, coyly vampish in this video realisation. There are three other examples of him posing.

This more mature model is at the opposite end of the physique and age scales. Crouching in wet shorts, which are so tiny they look incongruous on such a big man, but it doesn't make them any less sexy. He's not been animated yet, but I am hopeful he will be.

Remixing Reality - New Awareness

Posing for these magazine, publicity images encouraged the players to think about their bodies in a new way. 

And those of their team-mates! 

 

Remixing Reality - New Kit

Some club owners went further and ordered new kit in the latest fabric to show off their player's physiques. Most of the team embraced the new look, but some secretly had their doubts, thinking that maybe the kit was a little too revealing and the new style of team photograph a little too intimate. You could feel the difference up close.

Photographs which were taken during training sessions in the new kit, underlined the new muscular image of these clubs.

They won a lot of enthusiastic new fans. Other people were left wondering if maybe they were just a little too candid. 

 

 

Remixing Reality - Celebration Huddle

 It's usual to celebrate scoring with a team huddle, less so in rugby than in soccer games. Perhaps that's because there's already a lot of close physical contact in rugby. 

Players focussed on the game may not quite realise how their skimpy, tight gear amplifies the intimacy here. You couldn't blame anyone if they were tempted to touch a teammate in a different way (right). But don't think he won't notice, those shorts are soooo thin!

Surprisingly, for a sport that's all about carrying the ball, it's good kicking that frequently makes the difference in rugby and wins the game. So it's understandable that the team want to celebrate the remarkable legs that have propelled them to victory. 

 

(We can admire them too, albeit for slightly different reasons! You might even dream of hanging the hunk up by them. Well I do).
