DaveAlan01 -  HMS Hermes, Suspected Drug Concealment

This latest videoette posting by DaveAlan01 comes closer than ever to simulating a Royale Studio scenario. It features the most authentic Royal Navy uniforms I have ever seen in an AI image*, although I can't vouch for the credibility of the Officer's ranks. I suspect it wouldn't be an ordinary rating performing the drug search, either, but that quirk does add a twist to the suspect's discomfort.

 The underlying scenario of a drugs search in this video might have baffled Basil Clavering. Drug use was not as widespread in the 60s as it is today, but I'm sure he would have embraced the idea of Servicemen having to submit to cavity searches for 'contraband'.  

*Strictly speaking, Clavering didn't use full dress 'blues' in his storyette imagery, preferring tropical 'whites' which showed the men's body shapes better and conveyed the tightness of their fit. Whites also had the virtue of semi-transparency when wet, which comes across even in black and white photos.

This artist has now persuaded his AI engine (grok) to show a man in the act of being realistically stripped of his underwear by another man. This is much more dramatic than telling the unfortunate to remove them himself. 

 

 This segment of the video, though brief (!), is highly effective. We see the briefs being lowered, they don't just disappear as is often the case in AI attempts to depict strip action. The sudden, impersonal exposure has an intimidating military precision. I'm sure this is how Clavering would have wanted it to be shown.

 

DaveAlan01 - Royal Marine Stevens is stripped (still)

The stripping of underwear is highly suited to spanking scenarios of course, and the artist has used it to add to his series featuring Royal Marine Stevens, (he's my favourite character in these videos, also mentioned in my previous post about this artist). The new variant provides a teasing ending, stopping short of a depiction of the punishment.

 I don't think anyone has solved the problem of creating an authentic depiction of spanking in AI videos, although there have been some clever 'near-misses'. Tapping, stroking and groping however does seem to be permitted, as long as a justification is provided. DaveAlan's HMP Turdtown gives an erotic illustration. 

 The skill and patience needed to achieve results like this is hard to understand if you have never tried to create an AI image or video, the AI software has built-in resistance to nudity and naughtiness. In the video generating sphere, the artist has explained that it's difficult to persuade grok to create anything suggestive of sex unless consensual dialogue like, "I accept my punishment" is included. And, by the way, the dialogues here are suitably military and earthy, as required by the context, and spoken with a genuine English accent. 

 

DaveAlan01 - HMP Turdtown (still)

Bizarrely these AI constraints do not seem to apply to manhandling of men in general. In a couple of videos, like HMP* Turdtown DaveAlan01 has created some nerve-jangling protestations as men are propelled to the punishment platform. The one illustrated above ends with the guards deciding to leave the restrained prisoner to the mercies of the other inmates. So that's alright then!

DaveAlan01 -Turdtown Correction Centre (still)

In 'Turdtown Correction Centre' the artist has dreamed up a vigilante justice system for unruly rugby players. It features an equally non-judicial, 'eye for an eye' punishment for his offence, which reflects modern preoccupations with sexual violence. It's administered by a couple of fearsome brutes whose dialogue would make the strongest man quail. 

In this video, the artist has managed to create an astonishing impression of penetration which I would not have imagined possible, from a purely technical standpoint as much as the AI-engine's sensitivities.

Civil punishment scenarios like these last two were not subjects Clavering tackled, for reasons I suggested in my first post about this artist. However, there's no shortage of instant justice in his storyettes, both street style (as in TEDS) and military. In the military scenarios, the punishment is sometimes informally administered by peers (as in Cheat and Navy Gash) but often given a quasi-official justification (The Arrest, Unapproved School).

 This video is a sample of the AI Art produced by DaveAlan01. He's trying to visualise how Royale Studio images might have looked if they were produced now. This example has the right ingredients - British military uniforms contrasted with underwear in a disciplinary situation. I think Basil Clavering would have enjoyed the double underwear joke in this videoette. In his day it would have ridiculed the restrictions on depicting nudity rather incisively. In the modern context, it makes fun of our obsession with it.

Para Tom Taken To The Corrective Training Centre

 Basil Clavering seemed to favour shorts rather than underwear as punishment kit. I don't know if that was simply because of his personal taste or the taboo on visible underwear in society as a whole, which was more aggressively conservative back them. 

 

He attempted to make sexy, tight shorts out of the baggy, non-elasticated products which were the only thing available at the time. His efforts generally resulted in something like the image above, with an impression of bulk at the front, but a much tighter fit at the rear. He used clever lighting to hint at frontal shapes, but they had to be very subtle to escape censure. 

 

Unfortunately modern AI seems to be incapable of producing anything sexier than this and thinks military = medals. It has no understanding of British uniforms. Nevertheless, the shortness of the escorts' shorts in the image above is a good simulation of Royale Studios' take on 'dress' kit, perhaps seen to best advantage in the Soldier-Sailor storyette.

 

Clavering did have a para on his roster - Ron Wiltshire, but he never photographed the model in his own uniform, only as a Horse Guard in breeches. I don't think there's a single example of a beret in his output, but exposure to modern day Royal Marines might have changed his mind!

This disciplinary scenario (snipped from a video) fits the Royale style too, apart perhaps for the Guards wearing underwear. I think Clavering would have kept them in a uniform of some sorts.

DaveAlan01 has also produced some police custody scenes. This is a scenario Clavering never covered, probably because it would have invited reprisals from the real force. In any case, the Police were so disliked by gay men in that era, because of the heavy-handed repression, that it was a perverse individual indeed that would find them sexually attractive. Clavering did do a storyette with Military Police which involved Tibor Urgay undressing in public.

 

I'm certain too, that Clavering would have loathed jogging bottoms, but the common association (in the UK) with the so-called underclass and thuggery would have certainly interested him. That connection makes this 'put in his place' image delicious indeed.

Great stuff! These video scenes make you wonder how Royale's work would have looked if they had used this medium. Would it have just looked like all the other modern porn? His amateur models would have struggled, I suspect. Especially if they had to speak! AI would have got him off that hook, but AI speech is very primitive currently, usually with caricatured American accents. Let's hope Brits get a look-in soon, but I'm not counting on it.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing a naval scenario in this vein, sailors were Clavering's inspiration and his bread and butter, after all.

Royale Studio Revival?

 I have been documenting the work of the British 'Royale Studio' (1958-1963) for some years now, both here at mitchmen (click on GIU/Royale label at foot of post) and more recently at the Royale Studio blog and gallery. In this post I present mitchmen's imaginary 'Neo Royale Studio' (NRS) 

If Royale were around to day, I imagine this would be the sort of imagery they might produce. It would be heavily based on uniforms, with a touch of modern daring.

Royale tailored garments below the waist to make a tight fit. This trio of models, quite possibly servicemen posing for pocket money, will probably be supplied with close-fitting riding breeches or tights. 

NRS Models Meet Up For Their Shoot

  Two regular soldiers meeting for the first time and learning they were slated to pose together. Many friendships must have been born in the Royale dressing rooms (though I doubt the changing facilities back then were as professional as this). All these men might be wondering if their storyette will involve a spanking scene.

Royale imagery frequently featured quirky uniform combinations, presumably to suit what was available in their wardrobe.
