Cops Companion 20 - Jogger arrested

Dawn Patrol in the City Park now became a popular shift.
Vagrants and homeless people sleeping out on the benches were left alone
and attention focussed instead on the abundance of athletic men
that were to be found there exercising before going to work,
blissfully unaware that jogging in the Park precincts
(especially in skimpy clothes)
had become a misdemeanour under the new stricter regime.

Cops Companion 19 - Seen by the Commissioner

"You knock before entering, punk!"

As numbers grew and conditions in the jail were began to deteriorate
certain inmates, having got over the initial shock of arrest and naked detention
demanded to see the man in charge to register their protest
Adam Beaubutt the first man arrested was the first to protest.

The Commissioner was always happy to see inmates in his office,
providing they were suitably dressed for him and they knocked before entering,
but Adam found he was subjected to the Commissioners theories on criminal reform
including practical demonstrations which were painful and embarrassing.

Cops Companion 18 - Mass collections

Arrests were now running at such high levels
that the arrested villains were being left, stripped and secured,
at designated collection points around the town,
to save Officers having to ferry them to the Station

Fortunately the weather smiled on the 4S sweep but nevertheless
these men were in a position of some vulnerability while they waited
and not only from mischievous and salacious passers-by,
since once they had been spotted word soon got around.

Eventually a police truck would arrive to pick them all up
The true villains amongst them (and there were a few)
just had to hope that they'd be collected by the cops
before some aggrieved victim arrived to exact revenge

Usually their buddies and associates showed no desire to intervene
They weren't going to risk putting themselves in the sights of the cops.

Oi! You! Come and untie us!

The more audacious and hardened punks shouted at passers-by to set them free.
Their threats and intimidation had worked in the past,
but now citizens ignored them, no longer afraid
and glad they could go about their business unmolested.
Quite happy to see the thugs treated like garbage.

Cops Companion 17 - Campus Raid

Patrols were sent out to outer areas like the College Campus
Students in their cars were an easy target for the Cops
they usually rode round in neglected vehicles
which were overloaded with rowdy friends.

These stops therefore yielded multiple arrest opportunities
and if the passengers were fit, sporting types then the strip process
could be particularly enjoyable for cops who had interests that way.

These victims were usually too young and inexperienced to protest or resist
they were more worried about their parents finding out.

Neighbourhood Cops 16 - Taking Stock

"Did you see that guy's face when I ripped off his briefs?"

After a couple of weeks of the new arrest regime
the jail was starting to fill up nicely with dismayed villains
and cops felt they could pat themselves on the back.
However the stats didn't show much change in the crime problem yet.
and their targets had learned to avoid the cops traditional spots.
They needed to move into new areas of operation.

Neighbourhood Cops 15 - Hosing down Hotheads

Inmates were usually in much need of cleaning up after restitution sessions
The cops pragmatic approach to cleanliness and discipline
generally involved protracted, high-pressure hosing down.
They didn’t always limit themselves to water either*

Neighbourhood Cops 14 - Unofficial visitors

While the night watch were busy disciplining their prisoners of choice
other inmates received unofficial visits from masked civilians
who were supposed to be carrying out cleaning or maintenance
but liked to tease some of the hotter prisoners during their break time
