Nicholas Brunet Wrestlers

Nicolas Brunet is perhaps best known for his skinhead imagery but in these pictures he captures some of the essential erotic appeal of the sport of wrestling.

The flying surfboard hold is fiendishly painful but also puts the victim on display to the audience, exposing him in a helpless, vulnerable position. It is virtually inescapable if the lifter is strong enough and ruthless enough to keep his victim centred and balanced. The humiliation is compounded if he is clothed and his opponent naked, as here. The stressed flying position produces attractive arching of the body and from this angle, nice shaping of buns and thighs, which Brunet spotlights nicely, embellishing his image with erotic detail. I featured a similar move in the climax of another post, the Room 666 fantasy.

Brunet captures a marvellous sense of strength pitted against strength here, with a strong man being totally controlled by his very determined-looking opponent. There's almost a sense of David and Goliath in the contrast between the clean-shaven 'top' and his hairy opponent who looks much the more powerful man. However he has been rendered helpless, trapped and levered by his own interlocking limbs, applying pressure to his back, legs and shoulders. It looks as if he's about to suffer the final humiliation of being lifted off the ground when his own body weight will amplify the anguish.

This is a much less spectacular hold but Brunet has exploited it's simplicity to create an impression of casual, effortless domination. It looks like a brutal thug making mincemeat of a mild-mannered novice. The losing man has already been obliged to surrender his trunks and now has been forced into a passive, seated position where he cannot make any pretence of being a fighter. Instead he's obliged to bow forward in a humiliating, submissive stance while his opponent punishes his shoulders at will. The look of anguish on his face is like a heartfelt acknowledgement of pain and inevitable defeat.

The domination here is much more direct and brutal. The aggressor's choke hold seems immensely strong, temporarily overwhelming the victim, threatening him with consciousness and keeping him focussed on defence. Again there's a vivid visual contrast between the burly top and his cute, boyish oppenent. Away from the intensity of the 'combat zone' there's an erotic conjunction of crotches and forcibly spread legs opening up his other vulnerabilities. However, in the juxtaposition of bare-buttock and bulge, the top seems to be unexpectedly assuming a classic power-bottom position, which the scanty trunks seem to signalling too, it's something equally capable of scaring his opponent rigid.

Despite the 'Luchar' Masks and cage enclosure, this image is more erotica than wrestling with the leotards commanding more attention than the fighting. The open backside and low slung waistlines open up the possibility of interesting positions developing during the grappling, but the forced open legs and headlock shown here seem to represent transitional moves with indistinct outcomes. They could both develop into erotic possibilities but Brunet has left that to our imaginations.

In this last picture Brunet moves his grapplers into a fantasy setting with an unashamedly erotic motive. This hold has it's limitations as a conventional fight move since it carries the threat of a serious neck injury if applied with to much enthusiasm and for anything less than that the captive man can collapse his legs and turn out of it with the possibility of lifting his opponent on his shoulders. However, it's erotic credentials are strong, as it combines forced arching of the torso with the humiliation of arm pit hair and odours for the underdog. This time Brunet uses tribal tattoos to imply a surfeit of manly toughness in one of the combatants who nevertheless seems to be losing out to what looks like a very modern, aesthsetic-looking man. It seems an improbable but rather satisfying case of refinement overcoming coarseness.

My Fetish Wedding

Well I say 'my wedding', but it's really two of my boys 'tying the knot',

(well clicking a padlock really).

They had to ask for my consent of course which made me feel quite Fatherly.

I gave them nice, new waders as a present to wear for the ceremony.

As I am a true traditionalist I intend to be present at the consummation too.

Well someone has to untie their wrists or it won't be much fun for them!
I'll attend to any other needs and ensure it's a night to remember.
 

No question of removing the padlock of course, it's a lifetime commitment.

IFNB Revisited

My first article on the International Federation of Naked Bodybuilders (IFNB) blog has become one of my most read posts here. IFNB, for those of you unfamiliar with the term, promotes naked bodybuilding contests in which display of sexual potency is just as important as muscular development. You can find out more by reading my first post, which reviewed the IFNB culture and it's remarkable erotic features. This post revisits IFNB for a look at what happens in contests.

As Competition day approaches the training routines of entrants become ever more intense, but such is the culture of IFNB that rivals help each other by willingly exchanging fluids that are proven to help them achieve peak performance.

Behind the scenes, preparations for the contest include the creation of a new 'Golden Phallus' trophy for the winner. This is always modelled on the previous victor's endowment. Professional Naked Bodybuilders are accustomed to producing sperm repeatedly on-stage and usually find it difficult to stay hard for the lengthy 'sittings' without ejaculating. Their stray splashes are an occupational hazard the sculptor happily accepts for the privilege of creating the prize.

 

As the big day dawns, contestants and their training teams meet up one last time to exchange thanks and good wishes, knowing they have done everything they can to prepare for the contest.

 

Competitors must present themselves naked for the registration process. Not surprisingly fans sometimes gatecrash the room to catch a glimpse of their heroes waiting in the queue and for a chance to express their admiration. Competitors usually appreciate the diversion at this tense time and are glad of the opportunity to keep on edge, while giving their admirers something to remember them by.

Two contestants bubble with excitement as they meet the officials for the first time for preliminary vetting.

It's not really part of the competition but these men waste no opportunity to impress and influence.

The official Press Call offers a first chance to see rivals properly at first hand.Many a competitor's confidence has been dented by the realisation that their preparations may not have been quite thorough enough.

 

Tanning Assistants are on hand to provide the finishing touches.

They are often a valuable source of insider information as to which contestants are in the best form.

There's a thriving secondary market in their discarded clothing.

  

As the start time approaches the antechambers become a bubbling cauldron of nerves and testosterone. Trainers do their best to calm the nerves of their athletes, but in spaces crowded with naked male flesh, primed competitors have been known to spontaneously mount their rivals, thereby gaining relief  and disorienting the opposition at a stroke.

 The pre-contest milking establishes a common starting point for assessing the sexual stamina which successful contestants have to demonstrate on stage. It's not unknown for inexperienced candidates to falter at this first fence, but the day can be saved by their Sponsors who are permitted to supply last-minute stimulation and will pull out all the stops to ensure the fruits of their investment do not go to waste.

 

A friendly helping hand from the Coach just before going on stage helps to overcome last minute nerves.

Once on stage all anxieties are forgotten as competitors focus on showcasing their assets for the Judges.

The enthusiastic approval of the noisy audience is a source of great pride for the men.

It's a thin line between success and failure.

Illegal interference from an out-classed rival successfully disrupted this entrant's routine.

After the contest the Press and admiring fans eagerly crowd round the winner, no doubt hoping his star quality will rub off on them.

Victory celebrations can continue into the early hours.

Another dramatic image of a muscular hero being humilated by Ehrlik
(Sorry about the female-ish scientist but I don't think it spoils the picture).

What's remarkable here is that the naked man seems to be unsupported,
his arched contortions being solely a product of his agonised writhing.

The purpose of the scientist's hand-held device is uncertain
but the clawed, free hand suggests it's not entirely benign.  
You could imagine that those pink, spiked wheels are just ticklers
but there are other explanations!

The Bondage Art of BlackProf

BlackProf - The Attack

This dramatic image is part of a series by the artist 'BlackProf'. It shows a young man attacked whilst working on his computer by an intruder dressed all in black. The unusual, skewed viewpoint creates a striking off-balance effect and is typical of action hero comic strips. The simultaneous tying up and gagging shown here would require a superhero to perform, but neatly abbreviates the picture sequence that follows.

It's a classic domination situation and nicely rendered.

 The semi-realistic depiction of the figures lifts the image above frivolous cartoonery

The motivation of the attack (and of this particular element in particular) is unclear.

There's a slight touch of eroticism in the muscularity of both parties and the tied feet. 

You can't miss the inter-generational element in these images, but the characterisation of the older man is difficult to pin down in Western Culture - more Captain Haddock than George Clooney.

However he's a familiar sight in the pages of Tagame so may present a more sinister image in Asia although the artist is in Italy according to his Deviant Art profile.

BlackProf -Grabbed

 This marvellous, capture scene features a pair of malevolent dwarves as abductors. These chaps are a recurring motif in BlackProf's work providing an unfathomable but respectable screen for their antisocial behaviour. I don't usually respond to fantasy subjects but I think this device works quite well in creating and attacker that's not easy to evade. Their target has a very nice face here.

The humiliating incongruity of this scenario speaks for itself, notice the bare feet again

You'll notice that the clothing style doesn't vary very much 

and it's calculated to be as tantalising but un-erotic as it's possible to be.

This startlingly effective image introduces an totally unexpected ingredient in the form of a bridle head-harness with gag. There's a slight drift towards cartoonery in the facial expression as though to emphasis that this is just a jokey fantasy. The dwarf standing on the victim's back conveys the impression of forceful overpowering much more effectively than a conventional human character would

There's usually a spanking moment in these sequences, this one seems particularly violent.

Sadly the target area does not receive it's rightful share of loving attention from the artist.

There's a chilling threat about the scaffold-like structure being hauled into view here.

It hasn't gone un-noticed by the captive either, although the boggled eyes are a bit much.

 Placing it in the background cleverly conveys the sense of it appearing from nowhere.

The captive's shapely pecs are a hint of what might have been.

BlackProf - Starting With Silence

 This reworking of the same theme reverts to the goatee-bearded gentleman we started with.

I admire the dramatic energy the artist manages to capture in these images.

But the desert of sexuality continues........

BlackProf - Stripped Down

Until now! The dwarves unexpectedly strip their captive of his clothes. 

He proves to have a more impressive booty than you might have expected.

The portray of nudity is carefully crafted to be conventionally decent

But notice how the dwarf at the rear seems to be finding the revealed area interesting.

The captive is comprehensively gagged, bound and booted into a tiny box (resembling a safe).

There's even a hint of testicular interest here, stretching the boundaries of allowable nudity.

However the generous backsides in these last pictures give a clue to the artist's real gender interest.

 

BlackProf isn't really a gay artist and it shows in his work, but his ideas are imaginative and have a distinct edge which stokes the viewers thoughts. He treads a narrow line between realism and caricature - imperfectly sometimes from my point of view, but his comic-based technique makes up for that by conjuring up dramatic and energetic struggles that conventional art simply cannot achieve. His sometimes-slavish adherence to nudity norms is perfectly understandable, but leaves one wanting more, especially have been teased by the glimpses in the images just above. 

 

There's an extensive gallery of BlackProf at Deviant Art but you won't find these pictures in it, instead it is filled with the female equivalents. If you are not repelled by that subject-matter you will find more interesting images and ideas there and discover that this artist has a much better understanding of what makes a woman sexually attractive than he does a man. That is perhaps reflected in the exaggerated bottoms in the male nude pictures above which don't quite correspond to their fully clothed physiques and (generally speaking) don't achieve quite the same erotic effect in men as they do in women.

However I fear that any hope of his male art developing further may go unfulfilled. The near-uniformity of his male clothing in the four different sets presented here contrasts vividly with the wildly imaginative garb of his female abductees which he cleverly manipulates to produce added erotic effect, a feature almost totally absent from his male subjects. He doesn't even put his signature on male images and recently published a statement at Deviant Art saying he was going to concentrate exclusively on male subjects but it turned out to be just an April 1st spoof.

Make what you will of that.
